The monks of the black soil refers to mount Etna as the volcanic grounds and beaches are often black. The monks left and the new owner of this historical estate created a luscious boutique hotel with great respect for the buildings and nature that surrounds it.
From the outside the décor is overwhelmingly beautiful with sea views, rugged nature and the mystical mount Etna as a backdrop. Inside you can see traditional Sicilian agricultural architecture is combined with contemporary art.
The hotel has many different rooms sorted by name and divided into 8 categories: Classic, Superior, Deluxe, Suite, Suite Dependance, Suite Deluxe Dependance, Suite Queen Dependance, Suite King Elegante. The difference within each category is in the view, square meters/feet, decoration and location as some are not located in the main building.
From a culinary point of view you have to make an effort to find bad food in Sicily in general however some take food to another level like this hotel does. All food is organic and some is even grown at the fruitful volcanic grounds surrounding the hotel. The restaurant serves dinner on the terrace during summer, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and indoor during the other seasons. the setting is stunning and reflects Eco-Bio identity of the food and products.
The hotel does not come with a spa however you can still book and enjoy several treatments at the front desk and experience it in the estate gardens or in the privacy of your room. Of course our concierge can also assist you in getting a masseuse or other kinds of treatments.

The hotel organized seraval wine experiences throughout the year and serves a great selection of wines from the region. the volcanic ground of the Etna is a well know environment for growing superb grapes for wine making like the Nero d'Avola.
There are many experiences to join at the grounds of the hotel like bread making at the hotels' own bakery or what about enjoying a film about Sicily in the open air by the outdoor pool, surrounded the green grounds of the estate and with an amazing seaview.
