An ancient castle along the southern beachfront of Taormina. This former wine makers mansion is a luscious boutique paradise with the smoking Mount Etna volcano as a backdrop.
For those in search of great Italian food prepared with passion and usage of local, homegrown ingredients this is the place for you. The chef is here since the Castle first opened its doors as a hotel and the food is just excellent here. You can even follow a cooking course that will leave you with a clearer vision of what happens to food from when its picked in the field all the way to being served on a plate.
The Castle is a family owned property that was build up almost from scratch but with great respect to its original design and classic elements. All 28 suites are very spacious and the property's grounds are widely spread leaving you with a lot of privacy. The rooms are decorated with great eye for detail and design and are equipped with the latest technology. The Wi-Fi speed is excellent throughout the main areas of the property and in your room.
As the property's grounds are big there is a secured/gated carpark that is semi covered and a tennis court for those in need of some exercise. The hotels also offers an extensive spa menu for a rediscovery of the senses, body and soul. The spa offers programs that include health and beauty treatments and individual treatments, massage, oriental and holistic therapies, facials and body scrubs and mud baths, manicures and pedicures, thermal paths, combined and aromatic. Each of these corresponds to a specific target like weight loss, toning, stress relief, improved posture and reduced signs of age.
The hotel's location is an easy starting point to many other activities in and around Taormina and Etna like Day-Sailing, diving, golfing and a visit to the lovely centre of Taormina. The hotel can also hook you up with great winetasting experiences at the local wineries or even honey tasting in a little Etna village that produces over 20% of Italy's honey consumption.

The hotel's wineBar Il Palmento 1892 boasts one the finest collections of Sicilian wines and is a great introduction to Etna wines that give you the taste of the fruitful grounds of the Etna Volcano. The winbar also serves great appetizers and international spirits, Italian grappa, meditation dessert wines, and the most representative wines of Sicily and Italy. A great hangout for afternoon or after dinner drinks. The winebar is like a museum itself with a historical and enormous wines/grape-press as a centrepiece.
The hotel has its own private beach club called Syrah with sunbeds and beachservice like drinks, and easy food. For a more extended menu we advise to have the poolside lunch where you can have great local dishes and some international classics served with an Italian twist. Truly one of the better poolside lunched we have experienced so far at AzureBooker and while you are there, get yourself a nice Etna wine to easy the thirst a little.
